Week 33

the stretch marks came in :(

How far along:  33 weeks

Sleep:
I sleep decently considering the fact that I'm the size of a mountain.  I wake up roughly 3-5 times a night and I toss and turn a whole lot because I can't get comfortable.

Symptoms I have:
I've been feeling pretty good this week overall.

I still have to pee a whole lot.

My back has been aching quite often.  I've been trying to stretch is but it def is something that's been cumbersome.

Maternity clothes:
None.  However, if I want to leave my house during this next month I might have to buy clothes.  All of my shirts show the bottom of my belly now and my big ole butt is having some difficulties in my little pants.

Cravings:
Coffee.  Which I can't drink so i'll just be dreaming about it till my son comes out.

Fruit.  I bought a papaya from the farmers market yesterday and refrained from buying strawberries even though I should've just got them.  However, due to GD I don't think i'm supposed to be eating much fruit.  I'm probably just gonna get some fruits and stuff from my family and my in-laws, get some avocado, coconuts, tangerines, breadfruit, limes and papayas off of their trees.

PB&J is pretty much my comfort food.  I like to eat one when I wake up for breakfast.

Water, I feel like i'm constantly thirsty every moment of every day.

Dimensions
40 1/4 inches around.
Pre-pregnancy dimensions for my waist was 19 inches around.

Note: Doc said to watch the weight gain, I only have 5 lbs left of leeway between now and when I give birth.  I don't own a scale, so I really only have an idea of how much I gain when I go to the docs. (this still stands this week, I didn't gain any weight the past two weeks)

Movement:
I've noticed that my son has days where he is much more active than others.  Yesterday for instance, he wasn't moving around too much.  I could still feel him regularly but not as often.  Today however, he hasn't stopped moving around since one in the morning.  All in all though he has very healthy and strong movements.

Every time Alex talks to him, he calms down and just listens to the sound of his voice.  I personally feel like my son literally listens to his daddy already.  If daddy tells him its time to wind down and get to sleep at night, he'll relax and I'll be able to sleep more or less through out the night.   If daddy tells him to "let mommy know" when he needs something, he certainly does.  When I had to take the GD three hour test (which requires you to fast prior to the testing,) my son was kicking the living daylights out of me trying to tell me that I needed to eat and that he was starving.

Belly button: I'm an outie.  Unfortunately, the stretch marks came in this week I have a couple on the bottom part of my belly.  I'm a little bummed about it but not really.

Best moments of the week:
Taking walks with Alex at Ho'omaluhia after he comes home from work.

Bedtime stories that Alex reads to baby through my tummy.

Meeting up with friends, I got to hang out with Koa this week and I also got to see my family.

Yesterday was national sibling day and I got to hang out with my sister for a little bit. (pre-prego pic)

I'm teaching myself how to crochet now, its a little hard for me to watch online and repeat but i'm trying.

This past Sunday was wonderful, Alex and I went to Ka'ena Point and had a really great time out there.

We finished our lamaze classes this past weekend as well.  Now all we have to do is make sure everything is prepped and ready to go.

We put up the crib.  I can't wait till after the baby shower so I can set up everything that's gonna be in my baby's nursery.

We built a new system for our business AC Ponics that we'll be able to roll out by the end of the month.

Medical Checkup Update:
Okay guys, this is going to be my boo-hoo blog rant, so stop reading if you don't want to hear the complaints.  After going in to re-take my one hour glucose test and failing, I went in to go and take the three hour test and failed it.  Apparently two out of the three blood vials came back positive.  As a side note, I don't know who the heck thought it was okay to make a prego woman fast for an extended amount of time and than make her drink the most horrendous thing on the planet and expect her to keep it down.

Anyway, I'm going to sit here and complain for a second because I have NO risk factors what so ever. :(  I'm not overweight pre-pregnancy, matter of fact i'm in the below average/nearly underweight category.  I gained a good amount of weight thus far, probably more than I would've liked considering my size, but all in all i've gained a total of 28 lbs at the 33 week mark.  I'm not older than 25 and as far as I know the only people in my family that have diabetes, have weight related diabetes.  I've never had a baby before or been through a previous pregnancy.  The only risk factor I have apparently is my ethnic make-up.  Apparently Hawaiians are more likely to develop GD.

Anyway, I'm not one to watch what I eat, ever.  Prior to pregnancy, I ate the same as I do now, if I wanted an ice cream or cookie or pizza or whatever really, I would eat it without any guilt what so ever and my weight wouldn't fluctuate.  Since I've never been one to diet, or count carbs/calories, i'm in a pretty irked mood as of right now.  I usually watch what I eat and maintain a rather healthy diet, but I'm used to being able to treat myself here and there if I want too.

Honestly, I think I failed the GD test because I stopped working.  I originally passed the test and than after spotting a couple of weeks back they told me to get off the floor (i'm a waitress so i'm constantly on my feet for 6-8 hours.)  Only after I stopped working did they notice sugar in my urine.  I hear that exercise is super important to control your sugar levels, and while I was working I would literally work six to eight hour shifts straight through without sitting down or taking a breather.  After being told to stay home, I was only averaging maybe an hour of walking a day which is way less exercise than I had been putting in prior.

Anyway, my blood pressure is still good in terms of the whole, it is currently at 108/60.  However, that's a bit high for me considering that I usually have really low blood pressure.  All in all though, I have to meet the nutrition consultant next week at 34 weeks (which really means that I don't even have very far to go.)  I'm just gonna see what happens if I just re-adjust my exercise habits instead of my eating habits.  Yesterday I literally walked all day from around 10am to 6pm.  When I do have to start taking my blood sugars next week, i'm going to see if the exercise pretty much fixes the problem.  I really hope it does.  My doc said I can pretty much keep my birth plan exactly the way it is, the only thing though is that if I don't manage my blood sugars well enough, i'd have to have an IV during labor.  After all my research though, I'm still planning on refusing the IV anyway.  Besides, if all goes as planned, i'll labor 90% of the time at home.

Looking Forward To:
My baby shower! Due to a scheduling error though we had to change it to April 27th instead of April 20th.  Its a pool party though guys, so bring those bathing suits!

Crochet-ing a little hat for my baby.

Setting up the nursery (I have to keep an eye out for a rocking chair and maybe a dresser)

Maternity shoot w/ my gf Dominique.  She also shot at our wedding and did a photoshoot of Alex and myself in the beginning of our relationship six years ago. (featured her in my following post)

I really don't know what the heck to wear for this maternity shoot but thats going to be my goal for today, to figure out what the heck we're gonna wear.

I get to pick up my bags today that I ordered from my friend :)
