Week 36

So much Belly

These are technically 35weeks6days

How far along:  36 weeks

Sleep:
It is hot every moment of every second of every day no matter what!  I really don't sleep great anymore, and it kind of blows my mind to think that i'll have to deal with it for the rest of the month.

Symptoms I have:
Some seriously painful kicks at times.

I'm starting to notice swelling, especially in my feet at the end of the day.

My whole body hurts sometimes, particularly under my shoulder blades and my lower back.

I pee quite a whole lot

Maternity clothes:
None technically still.  Just forgoing clothes in the comfort of my own house and wearing really loose outfits when I must go out and about.

Cravings:
My cravings for coffee and sweets is getting ridiculous.  I almost feel like its all I can think about the moment my mind switches to any form of sustenance.  Coffee I don't cave however I have caved this week with sweets.  I shared some ice cream with my mom yesterday, I had some banana bread today and at my baby shower I ate cake!

Dimensions:
40 1/2 inches around.   I noticed that i'm no longer gaining inches around but my doc says i'm measuring perfectly.

Gaining about a half a pound a week.

Movement:
Still have an active baby in my belly. Speaking of which here's a short video of him kicking me that I tried to capture.

Belly button: I'm an outie.

Best moments of the week:
All in all I actually had a wonderful week.

I had my baby shower last weekend and I had a blast catching up with family and a couple of friends. I really appreciated all the thoughtful gifts as well.  I even got a gift of silk pajamas for this mama. :)

I've been walking everyday with Alex after work and its been wonderful.  When we get home he reads to baby, last night we read Oh the Places You'll Go by the one and only Dr. Seuss.

I got to spend some time Sunday with my mom, sister and Jordan.  We went out to go eat at tsukijis and man oh man did I stuff myself silly.  I even got my bubble drink since I drove all the way out to Ala Moana.

I had lunch with my grandma yesterday and got to chit-chat with her and I even got to hang out with my mom a bit during the farmers market.

I finally taught myself how to crochet and made my baby his little beanie.

We picked strawberries in our system!

We more or less finished up the main aspects of baby's room.  We ordered everything else that we needed and are set to go.  Speaking of which

Looking forward too:
Tomorrow! Alex is taking the day off to go see the eye doctor and finally get himself some new contacts so we'll be spending the rest of the day at the beach.

Brunch on Sunday with my in-laws at Haleiwa Joes

Working on the Kapolei aquaponics system on Saturday.

Getting really excited to meet my baby, I'm hoping he comes in a couple of weeks  :)

Side Notes:
Just got home from the doctors and she went over all of the potential emergencies and such.  Otherwise, baby is head down and ready to go.  Next week we'll start checking to see my progress and I'm glad to know that I can still follow my birth plan even with the GD.  During early labor I have to check my sugars once every four hours and than once every two hours in active labor.  I have to control my sugars more during labor and my numbers need to below 110.  If they should go above 120, I need to go into the hospital.  Also, as a side note, if my water should break my doc doesn't want me to wait more than two hours to come in.  Take my time getting ready to leave and drive over calmly but don't wait too long.  My doc will actually be out of town this next week so I won't be seeing her to the monday after Mothers Day.

Some moments of happiness throughout the week :)

Picked some juicy strawberries out of our aquaponics system :)

No Make-Up + Belly + Strawberries

Made my baby a beanie he can wear when he comes home
Now I'm working on a matching one for his daddy <3
Short hair!

Sisterly-Love

Prepped all of babys cloth diapers and have everything set to go

Including the same rocking chair Alex was rocked in as a baby
I am currently missing being this skinny.  I really am hoping and praying with all my heart that I can get back to this size pretty much ASAP after I have baby.  I was at a size 1 - 3 so i'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.  Oh and also I've always been the girl that ate whatever in the world I wanted to eat and didn't have to worry about it.  I really hope that it'll still be that way post prego.

Week 35

These shots are technically two days ago. 34weeks5days.

How far along:  35 weeks

Sleep:
Besides the fact that its rather hot all the time.  I've actually been sleeping fine.  I think it has to do with the fact that by the time I get to bed I am legitimately tired and all I want to do is cuddle up to Alex.  I only wake up maybe two to three times a night to pee.

Symptoms I have:
Heartburn sometimes.

I have this pain underneath my left shoulder blade some times when I walk all day

annnnd plenty of Braxton Hicks going on at night.

Maternity clothes:
None technically.  My wonderful cousin did buy me a bunch of mens t-shirts from work with her discount since they're longer, roomier and far more comfy.  Also, I finally bought the dress I plan to labor in and i'm also gonna double up my use of it by wearing it at my baby shower.

Cravings:
Coffee! something I of course don't give in too.  I've been pretty good about the diet/exercise thing.  Coconut water.

Dimensions:
40 1/2 inches around.

Gaining about a half a pound a week.

Movement:
My baby likes to make my belly look all awkward.  Its cute though cause I can feel him moving around so so so much.  For some reason or another he likes to hang out on my left side.  I'm pretty sure what his schedule is gonna be like when he comes out being that it'll be probably be similar to what it is now.  He's usually up around ten, wakes me up again around one in the morning, once more at four and than we're up for good by six.

Belly button: I'm an outie.

Best moments of the week:
Spent time with everyones babies this week.  Namely Eden and Lily.

Picked some strawberries out of our aquaponics system.

Don't forget to check out our blog acponics.blogspot.com

Hung out with my family a bit last week.

Making use of foods that were just sitting in our pantry and turning it in to deliciousness.

Looking forward too:
Getting my parents system set up so that its consistently running well.

My baby shower tomorrow!

Meeting my baby <3

Side Note:
My doc said that as I go into week 36 it would be totally cool if baby arrived.  He's weighing in at a solid 6 lbs at least which is awesome because at least I know that development wise, he would be 100% totally okay if he does decide to make his appearance soon.

I just wanted to put it out into the universe that i'd really really really like this sling.  I'm really bummed I couldn't enter the sling diaries contest the beginning of this month considering that I did not have my baby yet. :(  but yes i'd really like this particular one. Its the Sakura Bloom sling in wheat.  Realistically any Sakura Bloom sling would be a blessing, i'm just generally quite fond of this color.

Also, check out this website for a good laugh. -  Pregnant Husband
This should really go in my next post but anyway, i've spent a good amount of time prepping our cloth diapers this week.   We've decided to use bummis organic cotton prefolds with thirsties duo wrap covers with snaps.  All in all we've been using Charlies Soap but after a good amount of research i've decided to begin making our own laundry detergent which is safe to use both for our cloth diapers as well as our own clothes.  Switching laundry detergent will help since we won't have to worry about detergent build up.  Recipe for the detergent can be found here.

Week 34

How far along:  34 weeks

Sleep:
I've actually been sleeping fine lately.  I'm trying not to drink too much before bed and I find that I only have to wake up once or twice a night.  I do get hot really easily now though.

Symptoms I have:
Its been a good week really, I haven't had too many symptoms.

I've had heartburn some nights.

I get tired after my walks but I've been pushing myself to walk for longer hours. (ideally three hours a day)

Maternity clothes:
None. Still to cheap to get anything I guess.  Besides, what if i'm only pregnant for another couple of weeks?

Cravings:
This week I made a Fresh Strawberry and Yogurt Cake with a Lemon Glaze and THAT my friends is what I've been wanting to stuff my face with.  I made two cakes, one for now and one for the baby shower.  Unfortunately though, i'm not really supposed to eat the cake given my GD.  Therefore, that cake is dangerous....and delicious. When i'm finished being pregnant i'm 99.9% sure that it'll be one of my regular cakes.  Its really easy to tweak here and there as well to change out the flavors.

Ice is the other thing that I want at all times now.

Dimensions:
40  inches around.
Pre-pregnancy dimensions for my waist was 19 inches around.

Note: Doc said to watch the weight gain, I only have 5 lbs left of leeway between now and when I give birth.  I don't own a scale, so I really only have an idea of how much I gain when I go to the docs.

Movement:
Very active baby in my belly.  I feel like he's getting so big now a days though that he can't move as much.  I still feel him through out the day just generally not as often.

Belly button: I'm an outie. .

Best moments of the week:
Maternity Shoot, post below.

Victoria had her baby! :)

Spent the other day with my mom, lunch and a movie.

All in all though I feel like time is moving by extremely slow.

acponics.blogspot.com - we set it up, check it out

Side Note:
Surprisingly, its not very hard to follow the GD diet.  If anything it requires that I eat more than I was before.  It simply requires me to give up things that I've long since given up since I started this pregnancy, like starbucks.  Generally speaking I'm pretty good about eating at home but now I can pretty much ONLY eat at home if I want to follow the diet accurately.  I'm really anal when it comes to things, so I seriously monitor to the tee.  Also, to my surprise, pricking my finger doesn't really hurt much at all.  I'm thankful that I don't have to do this for long because lord knows I like to be able to munch on things whenever rather than on a schedule.

and finally I really want to get back to my pre prego body. which is this right here. ahhh good luck to me.

Maternity Shoot

Since I wanted to share these before my weekly update Friday, here's a few shots from our maternity photoshoot. :)
